With all the festivities, we see cities and attractions transformed into magical experiences allowing you to create happy memories with friends and family. Here are 8 wonderful places you should visit this December to kick off the festive feeling!


  1. Chatsworth House

    Chatsworth House is loved by many for its beautiful scenery and atmosphere. It is famously known for the setting of the 2005 Pride and Prejudice. However, Christmas is the perfect to visit if you want to experience the real charm of the place. From November 9th - December 1st Chatsworth creates a wholesome Christmas market, perfect for finding unique gifts and experiences for Christmas. From November 9th - January 5th Chatsworth transforms the house into an immersive experience of magic and festive joy. It's definitely a must for those looking for a wholesome Christmas day out!

    It may sound cliche, but London is arguably one of the best cities to visit during the festive period. London is known for having outstanding light displays across the city, especially Oxford street and Carnaby street. As well as this there are some great Christmas markets and activities for people of all ages. There is so much to do and see in the city that you would never run out.


    3. The Cotswolds

    The Cotswolds is a beautiful area to visit at any time of year. However, at Christmas, it is especially a magical place. The local towns are decorated beautifully, adding real charm to the area. You feel as if you are in a cute festive movie where something wonderful is about to happen. The area is known for having some great farm shops that are definitely worth a stop at during the festive period to find some great buys. With cute Christmas markets and the perfect winter walks, the Cotswolds is an ideal place to escape to the countryside.

    Hever Castle in Kent is a beautiful historical castle to visit with your families this year. The outstanding natural setting creates a cozy and rustic atmosphere, perfect for the Christmas celebrations. You can visit inside the castle and see the incredible historical artifacts whilst admiring the beautifully decorated castle. There is also a spectacular lights trail around the castle grounds that perfectly sets the mood for a Christmas outing.


    5. National trust sites

    National trust sites are a great place to visit during the Christmas holidays. Most national trust sites have a beautifully decorated house or area to visit where you can stop off for a warm drink and piece of cake. December is a great time to get outside and go on a winter walk! There is so much to see at National trust sites and has very knowledgeable staff that are happy to answer any questions you may have! This is a great way to get outside and slow down this December.

    York is a beautiful city to visit this time of year. York has some of the prettiest and amazing Christmas markets. The city is a perfect atmosphere to create a festive feeling and celebrate with friends and family. It really sets the perfect mood for Christmas lovers. There are plenty of stunning places to visit such as Castle Howard. There are plenty of great cozy coffee shops to take a rest in while you plan out more Christmas activities! The elegance and history of the city create a festive feeling unlike any other.


    7. Hampton court palace

    Hampton court palace is a great place to visit this year at Christmas. Every year the palace is transformed into an enchanting Christmas scene. With ice skating at the front and a spectacular Christmas lights trail, the palace is a perfect outing for the family. There is so much to see and do that you will leave knowing there was even more to see! Its a great way to get into a Christmas mood!


    8. Brighton

    Brighton is always a go-to around Christmas time. There are so many things to do and see. The costal town is a perfect way to escape for the day and see something different. Brighton is always a buzzing place to visit and this is only heightened during the festive period. A must-do is a Christmas shopping trip down the lanes to find the most perfect and unique presents. There are plenty of cute coffee shops and restaurants that you can take time to relax in. There is an endless supply of activities that will keep you occupied and set a festive mood!
